About Autumn Wohlwend
I'm Autumn. I'm 24, I build small iOS apps, I write poetry, and I take photographs. I care a lot about making technology that respects the person on the other side of the screen. My background is a little non-linear: Licensed Practical Nurse, then U.S. Navy Mass Communications Specialist, then years in SEO and marketing. In 2024 I moved to Mexico to live more intentionally. In May 2026 I left a stable job to do this full time.
Right now I'm focused on Rule Referee (live on the App Store), Tether (a commission management app for independent artists, in development), and my debut poetry book, Built From What Broke Me.
The Lab
Rule Referee
The board game rules helper I wished existed. Free on the App Store for iPhone and iPad, no ads. Partnered publisher games are free and you also pick 4 free games of your choice; an optional $2.99/month unlock opens up the full library. It doesn't use generative AI; every answer comes straight from the rulebook (because nobody wants a hallucinated rule mid-game).
Tether
A commission management app for independent artists who take custom orders, send progress photos, and get paid in stages. In development. Waitlist open.

Rule Referee Was Built to Be Safe, Not Just Smart
People assume Rule Referee is powered by generative AI. It isn't, and that was the whole point. Designed for the family game table, where trust and consistency matter more than speed. Every answer comes from a reviewed rulebook stored inside the app.
How I Structured an AI System Around Human Thought
I wasn't trying to make AI sound smarter; I was trying to make it think more honestly. A layered architecture built around semantic memory, intent normalization, deterministic retrieval, and clarification as a cognitive interrupt.
